XP-Dev - Free project management and free subversion hostingAs a web developer, with a personal computer and a personal laptop at home and a company laptop at work, it can be hard to sync everything I'm working on. Moreover, developing some projects with friends as a team, can be somewhat confusing without control.

A few months ago I found the solution for all these problems and, guess what... a free one!

I needed something like Sourceforge or Google Code. But, unlike these two, this one had to allow both private and public projects using all kinds of license types.

To tell you the truth, it is not that difficult to find a service with these characteristics. I found some. But most of them offered few MB of disk space and had all kinds of restrictions for free plans. Other were just too slow. Anyway, after looking for few hours to find the best online service with the features I needed, I had no doubt I had chosen wisely.

Welcome to My New Website

Welcome to my website!
This is my first post, made to my new website, using my brand new domain name.

Before I used to have a hard to update static website and used my usual nickname as my domain name. But now I have decided to 'upgrade' to a dynamic website since I will be posting a lot more.

This website is running the latest Joomla 1.5 version, a very versatile content management system that is hardly new to me. One of my job activities is to develop websites and, most of the times, using Joomla as the engine.

The template was developed by me, from scratch, inspired in some simple and great looking designs we usually see in blogs. It is a tableless layout with three columns and just three Joomla module positions - left, right and footer. Maybe I will add more if I feel the need for it, but for now I want to keep it fast and simple.

I will be writing about the usual stuff in personal pages - things about me, about my friends, about my hobbies and everything I like. This means you can expect some posts about web development, Web 2.0, skiing, motorbikes and, probably, TV series.

I think that is all for my website's introduction and I am hopping I will see you around.
